MECHANICAL JOINERY

Following weekend intensives are on offer:

    •  Oct 31 & Nov 1 (Cup Day) – spots available
      • Saturdays from 8:00am-5:30pm &
      • Sunday from 8:00am-4:30pm

This weekend course runs over a 2-day period and is suitable for all former students of Waterside, who have completed Module 2. The aim of this course is to explore the vocabulary of joinery design and its tooling to produce professional looking pieces.

Developing an artistic understanding of the union of two elements and creating custom tooling, is crucial in developing ones own personal style.

During the workshop students will learn and discuss traditional and hand forged joinery and will practice following joins: mortise and tenon, wedges, collaring, pipe rivets and a variety of hot riveting techniques and designs.

Tasmanian based Pete Mattila, will be teaching with the assistance of the familiar Waterside crew.
